How do you go about teaching financial literacy to your kids? I started thinking about it just for my 8th grader last year. I had this idea that it wasn’t relevant for kids until they are reaching their teens. However, I had the opportunity to review BUCK FIRST BANK ACCOUNT by Buck Academy and realized that kids as young as my 7-year-old can comprehend the basics of kids’ personal finance. And they love it!
Buck Academy’s BUCK FIRST BANK ACCOUNT helps parents provide a money lesson for kids. It is written by Dustin Foss and Illustrated by Febyolla Goss. The book is colorful and made of sturdy pages that will not tear easily. At just 25 pages long, it is a perfect length to read with young students and also keep the attention of older students as well. My soon to be freshman enjoyed looking at the pictures while we flipped through and read it to my 2nd grader. There is a lot of great information, but it isn’t overwhelming!
Check out a flip through the book here:
My 2nd and 4th graders have set up 3 jars for Spending, Saving and Giving. It really is that easy. The BUCK FIRST BACK ACCOUNT explained the idea of why each jar is important in a simple and easy to understand way. We look forward to passing along this book to some great family friends!
